I run a number of SMF forums. The largest one, korider.com is hosted on dreamhost shared hosting. Korider.com has about 3500 users, 800 visits per day and 8000 page views per day. I have TinyPortal running and a few other common mods.
Users were complaining of irratic performance. I implemented the following performance tuning fixes to my SMF site and the results were great. I will update as soon as I find out when the site slows down again.
Please comment if you have any other tips or numbers when your site slowed down on shared hosting.
